I thought of this after attempting to reason with Andrew Dobson, so you know it's going to be colorful I'm sure.
People think if they call someone a troll they can instantly devalue everything that person says. In essence, calling someone a troll is almost dehumanizing. Once you've identified someone as a troll, you're no longer speaking to a human being, you're speaking to a monster. Someone with no empathy and no reason, just pure unbridled hatred.
Except you should fucking know better. People who are truly sociopathic monsters to their very core are extremely rare and much harder to identify. You are not being attacked by a monster, you are speaking to a person who may have just as many problems and joys in life as you do. It's easy to dismiss someone and fool yourself into thinking they have no thought behind their actions like YOU do. It's easy to be a solipsist and think you're the sole protagonist in your own story about how mean everyone is to you, but that makes YOU the sociop
